Compassionate Support for Jamaican Hurricane Survivors
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s devastation across Jamaica, our nonprofit was founded to provide immediate and ongoing mental health support for survivors facing trauma, grief, and uncertainty. We believe that healing the mind is just as crucial as rebuilding homes and communities.
Our mission is to make professional online counseling, peer support, and self-guided mental health resources accessible to everyone impacted by disaster, regardless of location or financial circumstance. We offer a safe, confidential space where survivors can share their stories, receive guidance, and find hope.
Our team includes licensed counselors, trained volunteers, and fellow survivors dedicated to walking alongside you on your recovery journey. Through compassion, expertise, and cultural understanding, we strive to empower each person to rebuild stronger—emotionally and mentally.
Every donation enables us to expand our services, train more peer counselors, and develop new resources tailored to the unique needs of the Jamaican community. Together, we can create a future where no survivor faces their struggles alone.

Hurricane Melissa reshaped life for countless Jamaicans, leaving behind not only fallen trees and damaged roads, but a deep emotional wound across the island. As mental health professionals, volunteers, and community members stepped in to help, they witnessed a quieter crisis—survivors struggling with trauma, fear, and the weight of sudden loss. From this shared recognition grew a commitment to offer something often overlooked during disaster recovery: space to heal.
Our organization was created to ensure that every person affected by hurricanes has access to compassionate, culturally grounded mental health care. We provide free online counseling, peer-to-peer support circles, and practical self-guided tools designed to help individuals navigate anxiety, grief, and the long journey of emotional rebuilding.
At the heart of our work is a simple belief: recovery is more than repairing structures—it’s restoring hope. Guided by licensed counselors, trained volunteers, and community partners, we strive to make mental health support reachable for anyone, no matter where they live or what resources they have.
We envision a Jamaica where survivors can reconnect with strength, resilience, and one another as they move forward. Through collective care and continued support, we aim to ensure that no one has to shoulder the aftermath of disaster alone.
Studies show that 30-40% of disaster survivors experience PTSD, anxiety, or depression. In Jamaica alone, over 150,000 people were directly affected by Hurricane Melissa. That means tens of thousands need mental health support right now.
But less than 10% will seek help due to stigma, cost, or lack of access. We’re changing that by making mental health care free, accessible, and community-centered.
